Full

Best to start the week with an abundance of produce. The vibrant colors of fruit and vegetables insinuate good things for the days to come, I think.

  1. Definitely good things to come! I ran across a book that I'd read years ago and checked it out of the library again-- MFK Fisher, Julia Child and Aiice Waters Celebrating the Pleasures of the Table by Joan Reardon. I also checked out 3 cookbooks and The Man Who Changed the Way We Eat: Craig Claiborne. Maybe it was the tuna melt in Galax that has sent mr on a quest. Love, -L
PS the tuna melt was not that bad. My expectations were low, and it met my expectations.

  2. Lee, how strange, I just dug out a favorite Joan Reardon compilation from the Brookline library--A Stew or a Story: An Assortment of Short Works by M.F.K. Fisher, and I've very much been meaning to read the Craig Claiborne book. I have been devouring cookbooks and food memoirs recently--John Barlow's Everything But the Squeal and Diana Abu-Jaber's The Language of Baklava have been particularly wonderful. Glad to hear the tuna melt was an unexpected success!

  3. No,the tuna melt was not a success. It was awful and I had high expectations. On next years trip we will put one person full time on trying to find some decent places to eat.....
