Yeah, that happened.

Over the past month, I have taken several photos with the intention of a specific blogpost in mind and then arrived at my computer only to realize that what I had documented was slightly off in some way. In some cases the composition of photo ended up looking unexpectedly racy, and in others the content itself, I worried, might be too silly, or might embarrass the involved party. But, that doesn’t change the fact that these moments happened, and, dear readers, I think everyone deserves a bit of a laugh.

I took this photo to show the beautiful colors of the peppers I grew in the garden this year. Perhaps my mind is simply in the gutter, but I can’t help but feel something looks a little scandalous.

I believe efficiently loading the dishwasher is an underappreciated art. Fitting in each dish precisely takes practice and patience. What I don’t believe in is pre-washing. If you have to wash it before you put it in there, what is the point? I do recognize that unfortunately, for most people, failing to pre-wash means bits and chunks of foodstuff remain adhered to the dishwasher-washed dishes. I have simply devised a different sort of pre-washing system.

After my second clamming post appeared on the blog, this appeared in my purse when I left work the next day.

A great tip for pie baking with fresh fruit is to sauté your fruit, lightly, before piling it into the crust so a bit of that crust-sogging-fruit-juice is let off beforehand, leaving you with perfectly tender fruit filling and a crust that still has some snap when you pull the whole shebang from the oven. But, if you forget to do that, or you’re using a recipe that simply doesn’t permit the pre-juicing method, we have a solution for you…

Looking through the hit history of the blog to see what google search terms landed someone at this webpage, I typically see a lot of what you might expect: people actually looking for this blog using search terms such as “eat that off a squirrel,” or “squirrel eat blogspot.” But then there are the search chains that clearly turned up this site by mistake, including “what do squirrels eat,” “feed sick squirrel,” “squirrel eat brownies?” and “what to do if squirrel won’t drink.” To those individuals, we hope your (pet?) squirrel is feeling better, and we definitely think you should feed it brownies.
