Brain Freeze

Ultimate Strawberry Daiquiris, also known as the perfect frozen drinks to beat the summer heat. This recipe is quick, easy, flavorful, and packs a seasonally appropriate punch.

You will need:

1 ½ cups of fresh (organic if possible, don't break the bank, but you really will notice a difference in flavor) strawberries
2 cups of frozen strawberries
1 ½ cups of ice
¼ cup of fresh lime juice
¼ cup of orange juice
¼ cup of pure cane sugar (plus a little pinch or two extra)
1 cup of premium white rum
¼ cup of Triple Sec (optional)
Fresh mint

Serves 4-6.

Puree all ingredients together in a blender. Before pouring your Ultimate Strawberry Daiquiris, muddle some mint with a pinch of sugar in the bottom of each glass (note: using funky glasses in summertime colors really does improve the flavor of this drink). Pour the daiquiris. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint, because it's fancy looking, and everyone deserves a little something fancy now and then. If you are craving a soothing summer sipper, but still actually have to get some work done that evening, just omit the alcohol and substitute in a splash of water or milk instead for a little extra creaminess. We can't necessarily say that the virgin daiquiri recipe is every bit as good as it's original, for obvious reasons, but it definitely beats those store-bought, pre-mixed concoctions every time.

Warning: mixing up a pitcher of these frozen daiquiris to share with your friends on a hot afternoon could make you overwhelmingly popular.
